This project involved site documentation and evaluation of the Mills Orchard Ranch site located in Mills Canyon along the Canadian River about 15 miles (mi) northwest of the community of Roy, in Harding and Mora Counties, New Mexico. The site documentation included: (1) field investigations to define the extent of the site and record all the historic features within the site boundaries, (2) archival research to develop the historical context for the site, and (3) evaluation of the site’s eligibility for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places based on the field and archival investigations.
